Mitchelle, Manaf excited to make progression from youth side


Academy graduates Mitchelle Sarpong and Abdul Manaf Umar are excited be have made the upgrade to the senior team and will stop at nothing in ensuring that they make the most of the opportunity.

The duo was promoted from Auroras prior to the start of the of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition last year, and played key roles in seeing Hearts reach the semi-final of the competition.

In the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League (GPL) which is currently on hold, both have been impressive for Coach Edward Odoom’s side and, they expressed happiness to be playing for the senior side of Ghana’s most glamorous club.

Mitchelle Sarpong played for our under-20 side (Auroras) for three years before being promoted to the senior side by Coach Odoom who worked with both at the level.

“I am excited to be living my dream of playing professional football for a club like Hearts of Oak and, I will keep working hard hoping to leave a legacy here before moving on to other things”, Sarpong told Hearts Media.

He added: “Coach Odoom has helped me a lot right from Auroras and now at the senior team and, I will forever be grateful to him for the opportunity and the confidence he has in me to play at the level”.

“I want to win trophies at Hearts and make the fans happy and, together with my colleagues, we will go the extra mile to make all Phobians happy during our stay at the club”, he said.
