Richard Baidoo: I am learning from my seniors

Young enterprising goalkeeper of Accra Hearts of Oak, Richard Baidoo has said he will bid his time at the club to become number one as he learns from his seniors.

Baidoo, was promoted from Hearts’ youth team, Auroras together with Mitchelle Sarpong, Abdul Manaf Umar and James Serwonu but is yet to make a competitive debut for the Phobians.

He is down the pecking order behind Richard Attah, Richmond Ayi, and Ben Mensah and, the youngster says he always learns from those above him at training anytime they meet.

“I know my time will come and I always try to learn from Richard Attah, Ben Mensah and Richmond Ayi to become a better goalkeeper in the future”, he told Hearts Media.

He added: “I am aware how difficult it is to become number one at Hearts as we have three very good goalkeepers who are on top of their game right now and are above me in the ranking order.”

Training with the three goalkeepers presents him with an opportunity to learn and develop his game and Baidoo expects to gain from this working under goalkeeper’s trainer Ben Owu.

The former Ghana international rates all four of his goalkeepers highly and particularly believes Baidoo is on a path to greatness at Hearts.

“He will get opportunities and I believe he will take full advantage of this when football returns after the coronavirus pandemic”, Owu said of our young goalkeeper.

And, the player acknowledges this saying, he will keep working on his game to become the great goalkeeper that he wants to be.
