Newly signed striker Isaac Mensah said he idolizes
former Swedish international and current AC Milan player Zlatan Ibrahimovic and
will want to end up being like him.
Mensah has signed a three-year deal with Hearts of
Oak and is set to join his new teammates for pre-season training when the
greenlight is given for the resumption of football after the Covid-19 situation
has been calmed.
“Growing up as a child, I always admired Ibrahimovic
as a striker and, it is my ambition to play to the levels he reached for club
and country”, Mensah told Hearts Media.
“He has always scored goals wherever he has been
and, that has made it possible for him to win the numerous trophies and goal
king titles wherever he has been, and I want to be like him.”
The teenage striker said the former Ajax, Manchester
United, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus player has been a source of
inspiration for him throughout his career and will work hard to get to the level he reached as a top striker.
“I want to be a success at Hearts and, I will work
hard to fulfil that dream now that I have signed for one of the biggest clubs
in Africa”, the former Nkoranza Warriors forward added.
He scored eight goals in 13 matches for the Division
One side in Zone One in the 2019/20 football season that has been cancelled by
the Ghana Football Association due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
