Pre-Match: Defending champions, Hearts of Oak takes on tough side Aduana Stars.

This weekend Hearts of Oak, the GPL defending champions, take on tough side Aduana Stars at the Accra sports stadium.

The defending champions are yet to win a match and they will be hoping to overturn everything this weekend when they play the team from Dormaa, the ogya ogya boys.

Although the Phobians have not won any match in the two games they have played, they look very compact. Coach Boadu’s side, many have not come to the party yet but with their good display so far, they will be very dangerous when they get into their elements.

Covid measures/protocols have put a percentage on the number of fans that are allowed into the stadium, the 25% that will make it into the stadium serves as the 12th man for the Phobians and are expected to encourage the lads to their first GPL 2021/22 season’s victory. it might be down to the players to be in their best scoring form this weekend but it is equally down to the supporters to encourage them to go for victory.

Whilst taking nothing for granted, the GPL champions are aware of the fact that Aduana will come into the game like a wounded lion and will likely come attacking having lost their last match against joint league leaders, King Faisal. Aduana lost their last home match and they will see their next match as a form of redeeming their image on Sunday afternoon.

With the team celebrating its 110 years anniversary, head coach Boadu has told his boys to fight for victory so that it serves as their birthday present to the fans for their unflinching support.

The last time the two sides met Hearts of Oak were 2 nil winners and they will be looking forward to repeating it. In that match the victory was hard-earned, with chances created but 2 goals converted. Hearts go into the game without Afutu who was instrumental in their last victory over the ogya boys. With few new faces, the team will be looking to change the narrative starting from this weekend.
