Hearts of Oak raised squad 2hrs to kick off

Hearts' game against GoldStars at the Accra Sports Stadium could have been postponed due to the sickness that has hit the camp of the defending champions but were instructed to honour the match since GoldStars had already hit the road to Accra.

Hearts of Oak who struggled to raise a team for the game until about 2hrs to kick off made an attempt to get the game postponed had their request turned down by the ghana football Association.

Accra Hearts of Oak’s players started complaining about a strange illness on Monday and several of the players reported to the hospital, got checked with labs taken to ascertain the cause of the illness.

In honouring the match, the team needed to call most of the sick players to sacrifice and defend the badge of Hearts as the GFA vehemently disagreed to spare the lives of the players. Players had to leave their various sick beds and show their never say die spirit to honor the match day 29 game against GoldStars.

The team’s doctor who attended to the players recommended a-five-day rest for them to fully recover.

Hearts are hoping to fully recover before they leave Accra for Techiman for their match day 30 game on Monday against Eleven Wonders.

“I am praying that my boys will be strong by the time we play Techiman” said Coach Boadu.
