Hearts to play Karela in first match after recovery

Hearts of Oak’s last meeting with Karela ended with an umwanted result after good play but wasteful chances. The game ended 1 nil when every one thought it was a wrap only for Dafie Humin to shock Hearts with the 94th minute goal that derailed the plans and progress of the team. It was a big blow for the team when hopes were high to start a winning run. Karela will be looking to be at par with the phobians if they are able to twist the knife literally to throw out the hopes of Hearts of Oak making the top 4.

Hearts will be without their in-form striker, Daniel Barnieh who has joined the national team, the Black Stars on an equally important assignment. Barnieh, who seems to have found his scoring boots and creating assist for goals to be scored has become an important player in the squad of Samuel Boadu. At the moment, he is one of the only two local players invited to come help the black stars towards the CAF qualifiers.

Karela in their last 2 away matches have gathered just 1 point and will be looking to avoid dropping maximum points at the Accra Sports Stadium where Hearts too seem to have regained their dominance. Hearts of Oak in their last three home matches have not only just won but totally outplayed their opponents.

In their last match against GoldStars, even in their sick state were still able to raise a team and beat GoldStars.

Hearts have been declared ok to continue playing after running a test requested by the Ghana Health Service. You will recall the team was asked to make a U-turn back to Accra on their way to play Eleven Wonders in Techiman.

This will be their first match after recovery. They are to play the outstanding match against Eleven Wonders on the 8th of June at Techiman but for now Accra Sports Stadium will host Hearts against Karela.
