Accra Hearts of Oak were stunned after King Faisal strike late to break the heart of Hearts supporters. It was another late goal like it had been this 2021/22 season in the GPL. The team who failed to convert their chances both in the first half and the second half from chances created displayed a very beautiful game at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi. 

Dankyi who put up one of his best performances was deployed to the midfield and operated as a defensive midfielder. He ensured that distributing balls and intercepting passes were on point. He was key in stabilizing the midfield of the team aside assisting with duties in defense.

The Hearts team looked determined to nail the three points but were hard done by at the last minute of the game when Richard Akrofi of King Faisal hurriedly kicked the ball into the net after Caleb failed to perfectly head the ball away from the vital area. In an attempt to clear the ball by Ansah Botchway, Akrofi stole the moment to slot in the ball to win it for Faisal. 

Hearts played a very good game in the middle with Awako and Ansah Botchway bossing the midfield with their passes. 

Upfront, Suraj and Yorke were a constant threat to the Faisal defence who had to ensure that they are constantly kept at bay in order to avoid any upset in their backyard, a job they did well though. 

After the match Coach Hamza expressed his disappointment and assured the fans that “the team will have to work hard to avoid these kind of mistakes” as the season winds up. 

All of the players were sad after the game. 

Captain Mohammed Alhassan expressed his sadness “you travel all the way from Accra to Kumasi and not get even a point. The time we conceded the goal was very disappointing.” 

Mohammed Alhassan was fantastic on the day and proved to all why he is the best in the GPL. He held the defense of Hearts together throughout the game alomg side goalkeeper Richmond Ayi who many said displayed a great deal of skills with his beautiful saves yesterday. His decision making was timely and saved the team from considering goals anytime King Faisal pressurized the defence of Hearts.
