Accra Hearts of Oak to play AS Douanes or AS Bamako after 1st round exemption

Accra Hearts of Oak gets a bye and will be waiting for the winner between (AS Douanes-Burkina Faso and ASR Bamako-Mali in the second round of the CAF confederation cup competition to be played between 7th-9th of October. The second leg will come off between 14th-16th October.

The glorious club is exempted for the first round of the competition alongside other top giants in the competition. Accra Hearts of Oak is getting ready for the tournament as we continue to acquire players not only for that purpose but for others as well.

The competition which commences on 9th of September will see 50 teams from various African countries fighting for honours. The last time the club made an appearance in 2021, we couldn’t get into the group stage, something that the technical team is really working on to avert in order to make Ghana and the club proud. That decision has necessitated the signing of key and impact players for the upcoming season.

In a conversation with captain of the side, Fatawu Mohammed ahead of the draw, he mentioned to heartsofoaksc.com that “this time around we need to go in with a different mentality. Fully focused and ready to go beyond last season’s stage”.

In terms of player recruitment for the upcoming season a fan mentioned that “I see and feel that these are true Phobians. The kind of quality and experience players management is recruiting this time is a clear indication that they mean business. Kudos to the handlers of the team and the big applause to the Board most especially the Board Chairman. Is my fervent hope and prayer that all this investment will give us a positive return to the African competition and in the GPL”

Team Hearts will continue with the preseason as we prepare for the task ahead.
