Daniel Afriyie Barnieh arrived safely at the Black Stars team camp at Abu Dhabi

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh arrived safely at the Black Stars team camp at Abu Dhabi. He was welcomed by his team mates who had reported earlier.

On Monday before the Black Stars squad was announced, Afriyie Barnieh was training with his Hearts of Oak team mates at Pobiman when Black Stars coach, Otto Addo announced his name as part of the 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Barnieh's inclusion was widely expected as he has exhibited great performance with his mother club, and in all the national teams (Under 20, Under 23 and the Back Galaxies) that he has played for.

Barnieh's performance has seen a steady growth at Hearts of Oak where his potential has been harnessed to this stage.

Speaking to Heartsofoaksc.com, before he left Ghana, Barnieh mentioned that “it is a dream come true. Four years ago, I was watching the World Cup from my home but this time I will be participating in the mundial. I am very happy.”

Barnieh is ready to exhibit his skills on the biggest stage in world football as it is always the dream of every footballer.

He challenged his team mates to continue to work hard and one day they could also actualize their dreams.

His teams mates also expressed their delight for his inclusion in the Black Stars squad and encouraged him to put up a good performance anytime he is called to play.

Inkoom in his message to him said “I am happy for him. He has done well over the period so it is no surprise that he has been included in the squad. He needs to believe in himself and anytime he is given the opportunity he has to grab it well and prove himself at the biggest stage”.
